The VW Golf 7 GTI/R Airtec Motorsport Oil Catch Can Kit is a direct Bolt-on kit and is simple to fit. This kit comes with a laser cut bracket to ensure neat fitment along with a new washer fluid tank filler. The oil catch can features an internal micron filter, baffle & dipstick and detaches to allow easy maintenance.
It is good practice to fit an oil catch can as the original oil breather set-up causes issues with carbon build-up inside the engine’s intake system over time. It forms an oily sludge that covers part of the intake runner and intake valves which reduce airflow and can cause unequal air between cylinders. Once this build up has formed it’s a costly process to clean so it amkes sense to take preventative measures.
