Description

Want the sound and the performance? The GFB VTA T9484 fully replaces the Ranger Raptor’s factory electronic diverter valve. Its vent-to-atmosphere design releases boost with the classic blow-off “whoosh” every time you lift off the throttle.

Unlike a cheap “BOV spacer,” which only redirects air from the stock valve and leaves its weaknesses in place, the VTA replaces the factory unit entirely. Installation is simple: remove the OEM diverter valve and bolt in the GFB VTA. The low-profile integrated solenoid plugs straight into the factory wiring, so there’s nothing extra to fit.

The Raptor’s plastic factory valve is prone to leaking boost because its piston struggles to seal against an uneven plastic seat. The VTA solves this with a piston seat machined directly into its body, giving a reliable seal every time. Its design also uses boost pressure to hold the piston shut, so it won’t leak or blow open no matter how much boost you run. That means your turbo doesn’t have to work harder to make up for lost pressure.

The VTA also improves drivability. The factory valve is either fully open or fully shut, which can make power delivery abrupt when you make small throttle adjustments. GFB’s patented pilot-actuation system lets the VTA open and close progressively, venting only as much air as needed. It also holds a small amount of boost in the intercooler between gear changes, so the turbo gets back to full boost faster when you’re back on the throttle.
